BUNNY RABBIT (28), a centerfold and emotional contortionist, fell deeply in love with LIO (40), her photographer, after a raucous tryst in his studio. But now, she suspects his eyes have wandered. Desperate to regain her allure, she enlists the hyper-macho smarthome, PER-C, to prepare Lio a romantic birthday surprise—but she’s lost her wedding ring, the house is a disaster, and she explodes a jar of maraschinos, ruining the cake. An adept homemaker she is not, which only makes her feel worse.
Fractured memories of the suspected mistress, BLAIRE (35), infiltrate Bunny's reality. The more she descends into her insecurities, the more PER-C exploits them, goading her toward destructive behavior and revealing the device's fixation with violence—one it attempts to satiate through Bunny, by proxy. Bunny refuses the bait, and whips up a new cake. But when she discovers a portrait of Blaire perched regally upon the wall, her rage propels her first destructive step, and she tries to tear it down, to no avail. PER-C nevertheless rewards her attempt, luring her to a foreboding door, in front of which lies the lost wedding ring. PER-C insists that the cure to Bunny's insecurities—Lio’s perfect gift—lies behind the door. But when Bunny can't open it, PER-C sets the birthday cake on fire in retaliation, just as Lio returns home to the catastrophe.
When Lio sees the ring on Bunny's finger, we learn that it, in fact, belongs to Blaire—that Bunny is the former mistress, who’s broken into their house and made herself at home in an effort to win Lio back. It’s a plan—as PER-C gleefully reiterates amid a torrent of insults only Bunny can hear—that has backfired spectacularly. Pushed to her breaking point, Bunny snatches Blaire’s portrait off the wall, smashes PER-C to smithereens, and triumphantly opens the door to reveal Lio’s trashed photo studio and his “gift” inside: the crumpled corpse of Blaire: Bunny’s way of making sure she’s his one and only, just as Lio had once promised her she could be.
Lio, distraught, attempts to flee, but Bunny incapacitates him with the now-calcified cake. As he chokes upon crumbs, Bunny—faced with the e prospect of losing the love of her life forever—has an epiphany: she doesn’t need to contort herself for Lio, she can contort him for her. So, after frantic resuscitations, she imprisons him as a gimp to dote upon lovingly, in her very own happily ever after.
